Dolly Parton showed generations of women that we never had to choose.

We could be strong and soft.
Powerful and kind.
Beautiful, talented, ambitious, and still lead with grace.

She built an incredible life without losing the heart behind it. She gave generously, loved deeply, stayed true to who she was, and reminded us that success means so much more when we use the light we’ve been given to shine a little brighter on someone else.

And maybe that is one of the most beautiful kinds of legacy there is not simply what we accomplish while we’re here, but how people felt because we were here.

What a gift she was. What an example she leaves behind.

Rest well, Ms. Dolly. 🤍

Your songs will live on, your kindness will live on, and your light will keep finding its way into generations you’ll never even meet.

After my surprise email today I thought I'd go digging through the archives and revisit Erin's sweet 16 session. Its been a whole 3 years since then and so many changes and soooo much growth in my craft. But I still love these photos and this young lady and now she is all grown and a momma herself 🥹😍💜.....

I had one of those full-circle moments this week that I think I’ll remember for a long time.

Back a few years ago, someone made me feel like I would never amount to much in the photography world because I didn’t want to become the photographer they thought I should be. I didn’t want to copy someone else’s style or let other people completely shape the way I saw my own art.

So I continue learning. I continue creating. And I continue doing things my way.

Fast forward to this week, and a photographer and creative director working all the way across the world in Bali came across my work through my little Instagram account , an account with roughly 200 followers. He didn’t just scroll past. He went through my work, found an image I photographed back in 2023, and reached out because something about it genuinely spoke to him.

And THAT is why I’m sharing this.

Not as a “look at me” moment, but as a reminder to EVERY single creative, small business owner, artist, photographer, or person trying to build something:

Please stop believing that small means insignificant.

You do not need thousands of followers for your work to reach the right person.

You do not need everyone to understand what you’re creating.

You do not have to become somebody else’s version of successful.

And one person’s opinion of what you will or won’t become does not get to write the ending of your story.

Keep creating. Keep learning. Keep putting your work out there, even when it feels like nobody is paying attention.

Because sometimes somebody on the other side of the world is. 💜

I LOVE how THIS turned out, seeing my original photo transformed into THIS?!

The phantom effect fits it so freaking perfectly. 😭🔥

The streaks through the image make them look like they’re literally bleeding through from another realm and I am OBSESSED.
Apparently the Harvest spirits really have spoken. 😂👻🎃
