One of my favorite things about the Yearbook Club is getting to photograph the same senior throughout the year and letting every session feel completely different.

Sidney’s first session was tulips... this time we headed to Lake Michigan. 🤍

Casual in the dunes, a little black & white, white dress at sunset and we kept shooting right into blue hour.

Same girl. Completely different chapter of her senior year.

And we’re not done yet. 💛

Some wedding venues are beautiful because they were designed to be...

and some are beautiful because of everything that happened there before the wedding ever began. 🤍

Emmajo & Dwight got married at home. Their ceremony was at her dad’s house, and their reception was at the home that once belonged to her grandma and was built by her grandpa.

And somehow that feels even more perfect when Emmajo told me she knew Dwight was her person because “he was my home.” 🥹

High school sweethearts... their kids and family surrounding them... a memorial table for the people they were missing... bubbles down the aisle... and a bride who described the whole day as “like a Disney movie but more.”

This one was pretty special. 🤍

And when I asked Emmajo which moment she would relive?

“The whole freaking day.”

I think that pretty much sums it up. 🤍

Senior photos don’t have to be one big session with ALL the things.

Sometimes I love them even more like this... one outfit, one beautiful little spot and time to just play.

Sawyer’s wildflower session was soft, simple and so perfectly late summer. 🤍

And this is exactly why I love giving seniors the option to photograph different pieces of their senior year... every session gets to feel completely different.

Some sessions feel like we’re documenting a moment.

Maternity sessions feel like we’re documenting the very last chapter before everything changes. 🤍

Just the two of them, standing in the evening light, waiting for the little person who is about to make them three.

Fourteen people. Three generations. One 75th birthday.

And one family photo that means SO much more than everyone smiling at the camera.

The T family was together on White Lake celebrating Grandpa's 75th birthday ... 8 adults, 6 kids, family from around Michigan and one crew all the way from Boston.

Our original session got rained out. Our backup meant direct sun in the middle of the day because baby's nap schedule wins.

And you know what?

We still made magic.

Because family photos don't need perfect weather, perfect light or perfectly cooperative kids. Sometimes they just need everyone you love in the same place at the same time.

And when I look at that big group photo ... all I see is one very proud Grandpa surrounded by the family he loves.

A 75th birthday brought the T family together on White Lake for an extended family photography session with 8 adults, 6 kids and three generations together.

A little wind. A lot of laughter. A pie on the beach.

The Chapman family absolutely understood the assignment ... come as you are, have fun together, and let me capture everything in between.

Because this is the good stuff.

First Yearbook Club session for Ava 🤍

And THIS is exactly why I love Yearbook Club ... senior year doesn’t have to fit into one session, one outfit or one location.

We started hers with bare feet, a white dress, beach grass, Lake Michigan and eventually getting right into the water. 😍

By the end of senior year, we’ll have a whole collection of completely different little pieces of this season of her life ... and this was such a pretty way to start.

The B Family is on the blog! 💛

They were visiting West Michigan, camping nearby and wanted updated family photos while they were here ... and I'm SO glad they found me!

Their only real request was to capture the natural moments ... and those ended up being some of my absolute favorites. Tickles, piggyback rides, Ring Around the Rosie, sibling silliness and everyone piled together in the sand. 😂

Of course we got the pretty everyone looking photos too ... but THIS is what I want family photos to feel like.

A beautiful Lake Michigan sunset + a family that was completely willing to play and love on each other ... such a fun night at Meinert Park. ❤️

Senior sessions don’t always need a big elaborate location. Sometimes all you need is a pretty dress, a little movement, soft summer greens and a spot you might normally walk right past. 🤍

I love finding those little pockets and turning them into something that feels almost dreamy.

And this set of Isla? Exactly that.
