Behind the scenes of the most difficult and most rewarding day spent out west in the mountains.

Taylor is behind a lot of my photos lately: helping me swap lenses in the field, carrying my heavy equipment (disguised as training for an upcoming ultra), & quite literally dragging me off an actual glacier after I fell later this evening.

Forever grateful for the moments shared like this where we are miles from any sign of humans and probably the most incredible views our lives to date. There weren’t many photos captured this trip because of pure safety concerns, but I think that’s by universal design. We were left with only the best.

I used to think professional photography was something I should invest in once my business was making enough money to justify it. When I finally did, I realized I had been thinking about it backwards.

The photos changed what people thought I was capable of. I started getting inquiries for services I hadn’t even considered. I attracted brands I never would have thought to pitch. And I was able to charge rates that were higher than anything I’d previously charged.

The work hadn’t suddenly changed, it only changed the way people perceived my business. This lesson has been foundational in how I want to help businesses I work with. The goal is to create assets you can actually use across your marketing to build your brand, reach the right audience, and position yourself for what’s next.
