This beautiful young lady comes to visit Westcliffe from Iowa every year, and this year is extra special—it's her senior year! ❤️ I was honored to capture her senior photos while she was here. Is there a better backdrop than Westcliffe, CO? I don't think so!

A little less smoke in the sky yesterday afternoon, and it sure was a welcome sight. This little hummingbird seemed to be enjoying the break too. ❤️

Showers are in the forecast today, and goodness do we need them. We’re praying for a gentle, soaking rain to help our firefighters, protect our neighbors, and bring some relief to these beautiful mountains we all love. 🙏🏻🌧️

Lord, send the rain. 💙

As beautiful as this scene is, the reason behind it is heartbreaking.

A Young Bull and a Legend

There’s something special about watching a young bull elk stand beneath the shadow of greatness.

This young bull almost looks as if he’s gazing up at Samson—the legendary bull elk of Estes Park whose massive antlers and incredible presence captivated so many. While Samson’s story ended far too soon, his legacy lives on in every young bull that carries the promise of what might someday be.

Maybe this youngster will never reach Samson’s size. Maybe he will. But today, he reminds us why we admire these incredible animals: strength, resilience, and the wild spirit of the mountains.

Here’s to the next generation of monarchs of the Rockies. 🦌🏔️
