Here's a good look at the XOLEX show from a distance as seen on the Iowa State Fair Grandstand Stage last Saturday Night! The whole team including Alexis Curran, Jon Locker, James Biehn, Brian Schwager, Chris Hansen, and Diana Weishaar. put it together to do their version of Gunpowder and Lead, with Brian sharing a few of his favorite guitar licks. After doing a little digging through my photo archives, I went back to November 12, 2025, and rediscovered a shot I had originally passed over during my first round of edits. Now, this once-overlooked and rejected image has found new life as my Randy B. Schwager Facebook cover photo—and it’s a reminder that sometimes it pays to check to see what you've left behind! I can’t remember the last time I had this much fun taking photos—and then diving into the edits afterward! 📸
I’m incredibly proud of everyone in the XOLEX organization for absolutely **blowing away the crowd** during their performance on the Iowa State Fair Grandstand Stage. With an audience of more than 13,000 people, Lex and her band had the crowd’s full attention from start to finish!
Huge congratulations to Alexis Curran, Jon Locker, James Biehn, Brian Schwager, Chris Hansen, and Diana Weishaar. They were also joined by Neil Stoffregen on keys.
Behind the scenes, Jake Barnwell created the incredible back-of-stage graphics, directed their application throughout the show, and managed the live cameras that helped bring the entire performance to life.
And a very special thank-you to Kellee Curtis Curran and Mike Curran—without whom none of this would be possible.
What an unforgettable night, an incredible performance, and a team effort from beginning to end. "Way to go, XOLEX!" 👏🎶🔥

XOLEX played the Iowa State Fair Grandstand Main stage tonight. Ticket sales for her and headliner BigXthaplud surpassed 13,000. What a great night for XOLEX, Brian Schwager, James Biehn, Jon Locker, Diana Weishaar, and Chris Hansen! Also a huge thanks to Jake Barnwell for creating and running the big screen special effects during the performance. Of course Kellee Curtis Curran and Mike Curran for their roles in making it all happen! It truly takes a village for these things to take place. It was a huge night and they all hit it out of the park!

One of the many things I love about XOLEX and her band is the seemingly endless stream of originals she continues to write...giving them exciting new songs to perform. These three were recorded in Earlham last Sunday night. Come on out to the Iowa State Fair Grandstand on Saturday, August 22nd at 7:00 PM. On Sunday night, XOLEX and her band headlined the Levitt AMP Earlham Music Series with a high energy performance that had the large crowd fully involved. Alexis Curran was joined on stage by her crew including Jon Locker, Brian Schwager, James Biehn, Diana Weishaar, and Chris Hansen.

I'm not sure how I feel about this and doubt that I'll be using it in the future...but I had to expeiment with AI a little. I took a close-up Iphone "head shot" of myself and prompted ChatGPT to create a photo of me with a Nikon Z8 wearing a brimmed hat with an outdoors setting in the background with a sunset, an eagle, and miscellaneous wildlife.
