There’s something sacred about a sports mom—
the way she gives pieces of herself
without ever asking for them back.
She is the loudest cheer from the bleachers,
the steady voice after a hard loss,
the smile you search for in the crowd
before the game even begins.
She is early mornings and late-night drives,
muddy cleats in the backseat,
fast-food dinners between practices,
and endless miles traveled
just to watch you do what you love.
She is the packer of snacks,
the finder of lost uniforms,
the reminder to hydrate,
the keeper of schedules
that somehow never fall apart.
But more than that—
she is the one lying awake at night
worrying about your safety.
Not just the bruises and broken bones,
but the quiet hurts too—
the pressure, the heartbreak,
the fear of not feeling good enough.
She notices the silence after a rough game.
She hears the emotion hidden behind
“I’m fine.”
And no matter the hour,
she is always ready to listen
to every detail about practice,
every frustration,
every victory,
every dream.
She gives selflessly.
Her time.
Her energy.
Her weekends.
Her heart.
And somehow, through all of it,
there is no place she would rather be
than sitting in those stands,
hands clasped tightly,
watching the person she loves most
fight for something they’re passionate about.
Because long after the scoreboard fades
and the final buzzer sounds,
a sports mom remains the constant—
the safe place,
the unwavering support,
the forever teammate
you never realize you needed
until you look back
and see she was there
for every single moment.
Happy Mother's Day! Some of my favorite photos/moments are capturing the hearts of the moms. I see you & feel you... even though it's your child that I am there to photograph, I know that behind every athlete/performer is an excited, nervous and ever so proud momma.
I have so many wonderful photos of Moms and I wish I had time to gather them all from over the years... I just included a few from this year in my post. If you have a favorite photo from the past that celebrates the meaning of this post, please share it below. THANK YOU MOMS!
