“Do not take one posed photo.”

That was the assignment Deb gave me when she called. She wanted something real—her family gathered around the table, preparing food, laughing, cooking, and creating new memories together.

After losing her husband, a chef and restaurateur, food became an even more meaningful way for their family to stay connected. His love of cooking has been passed down to their sons, and the family meals he helped make central to their lives continue in a new generation.

So instead of asking anyone to look at the camera, we simply documented the moments as they unfolded: hands preparing food, conversations around the kitchen, recipes being shared, and a family finding new ways to gather together.

Hailey and Josh’s session had plenty of charecter—from their charming cabin and the marsh to the beautiful wooden rowboat Hailey commissioned from Gannon and Benjamin as a wedding gift for Josh. Of course, we had to get it out on the water.

The whole evening felt relaxed, personal, and completely them, which is exactly what we love about engagement sessions. A chance to spend time together, make some beautiful photographs, and tell a little more of the story before the wedding day.

And now we’re counting down to September, when these two will say “I do” on island. We can’t wait. 🤍

When people think of Martha's Vineyard, they often picture beaches, lighthouses, and summer days. Those places are beautiful, but we're continually inspired by another side of the Island—the people who work the land and water, the local food that reflects the seasons, and the traditions that have shaped this community for generations.

From oyster farms and fishing boats to kitchens, farms, and quiet landscapes, these are the stories we're always drawn to telling. They remind us that Martha's Vineyard is more than a destination—it's a place where people continue to create, harvest, and innovate every day.

Year 9 with the DiGiovanni's. 🤍

One of the greatest gifts of this work is watching families grow over time. Swipe to the end to see the very first photo we took of the DiGiovannis back in 2018. There were just three of them then. Today, they're a family of five, and it's been such a privilege to document each new chapter along the way.

Watching little ones become big siblings, seeing personalities blossom, and welcoming new faces into the frame year after year is what makes this work so meaningful. These aren't just annual photo sessions—they're pieces of a family's story.

Thank you, DiGiovannis, for trusting us with your memories for nine years. We can't wait to see what the next chapter brings.
