After struggling last manatee season and feeling like I could’ve come away with better photos, I wanted to push myself to take a wider range of photos and include more of the environment this time around. I took a week off from my full-time job to camp in central Florida. The day I took this photo, I was out on the River for 6 hours. Balancing on a paddle board, holding my camera with the underwater housing over the side without falling in had my arms and legs shaking. Needless to say I was sore the next day. Without an external monitor, it was hard to see what exactly what I was shooting but managed to compose this one in the little time I was able to see. This is now one of my favorite photos and I’m happy to be able to share it with you guys. Let me know what you guys think! Remember to boat responsibly, follow rules and regulations. Never pet, feed, chase, or harass wildlife.
