Ahh, memories of helping budding young photogs β€...this experience actually inspired me to begin teaching classes years ago - yes, 1-on-1 in-the-field hands-on tutelage by a formally-educated, insured, published pro with over 3 decades experience shooting both digital AND film as well as a lifelong visual artist.
Let me teach you all about that beautiful tool that stops time, and how to stop time exquisitely.

While shooting the Manson-Cooper concert at Merriweather a few months ago I noticed a girl with a Nikon Coolpix trying to get a zoom shot from the lawn. I saw her struggling with each try, every image washed out and a big blur, so I offered to help her with her settings and showed her how to get a better shot. I handed her my card and wished her happy shooting. This is her sweet message to me (I literally just saw it today):
"Hello Erika!
I just wanted to thank you so much for taking the time to give me a brief yet very helpful camera/photography lesson the other night at Merriweather! I can't tell you what an honor & privilege it was for me, a novice, trying to improve my photography to get such advice. The bands were awesome & the help from you so much appreciated. Your work is amazing... I just wanted to show you a couple of the shots I did get with much thanks to you..."
This is one of the shots she got :-)
Thanks for your message and sharing your shots with me Heather Bauerline Smith!!! Keep it up!!!
