One thing I've noticed after photographing so many weddings...
Almost every groom ends up carrying part of his bride's dress at some point.

It's one of those quiet little acts of love that says, "I've got you." And every single time, it melts me. (And makes for the sweetest photo!)🤍

You and me, plus baby makes three. ✨

I got full body chills when my bestie girl, Haylee Shifflett♡ pulled out her ultrasound picture and told me and some of our closest girlfriends she was pregnant.

Cody + Haylee have become such a gift in Ian’s and my life. Their friendship is one we don’t take for granted, and it brings me so much joy knowing we get to walk this season of parenthood together.

There is something incredibly special about watching your friends become parents. Our boys have been the greatest blessing of our lives, and getting to watch two people we love so deeply prepare to experience that same kind of love… it’s just so precious.

Here’s to the tiny life that’s already so loved, and to the beautiful adventure that’s just beginning. We love you guys. 🤍

TJ + Sam ✨

Growing up I always cherished time with my cousins. I especially love looking back at old pictures from the 90’s and early 2000’s with all of us crammed into one of our houses enjoying Christmas together.

Now as adults, it’s a different kind of love that you share with your cousins. Our at least I do! One that has grown as you’ve watched them walk their path in life, while you’ve walked yours. Watching them fall in love and experience a relationship. You may not all be as close in proximity like those packed living rooms on Christmas Day, but your hearts stay connected with a bond that never leaves.

When I met Sam at the gym, and I realized this was TJ’s love of his life, I was already connected. I love the heart she has for my cousin and even more so, her. She is a treasure of a woman and I love that she and TJ will be spending the rest of their days together because guess what this sneaky guy did right after the session? 😍💍

These two have something special. I met Meg years ago when I was looking for an esthetician. Here we are almost 6 years later and we have grown to be friends (and she’s still my esthetician). She has a heart of gold and to think she’s met this sweet guy who cherishes her for all she is. Nothing like watching your friends fall in love.

With a new home and new baby on the way, this sweet family sure does know how to soak up the in between moments. ✨

Sam & Johnney are some of the most intentional people and friends. At one point during their session we stopped for a bit to just sit, chat, and watch their sweet boys dig in the dirt.

It blesses me to have friends like them.

Their new chapter begins oh so soon as they begin to make this new house their home, and welcome their baby girl!

Yesterday, I looked over at my husband while we were driving and asked him,
"Do you ever look at us and think, 'We really get to spend the rest of our lives together,' and get so excited about it?"

He responded, "All the time. Every time I look at you."

And I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Life moves so quickly. We're usually talking about schedules, kids, work, groceries, and all the things that keep a family running.

But for a moment, kids in the back seat and headed home from running errands, life slowed down a bit. I got to see us not for all that we do, but for what we are.
Two people who somehow found each other in this big world and get to keep choosing each other over and over again.

I think it can become easy to spend so much time looking ahead that we forget to be amazed by what's already here.

So here's your Sunday pause:
What in your life have you stopped being in awe of simply because it's become familiar? Maybe today is a good day to notice it again.
