It’s honestly wild to me how much backlash I receive over my pricing.
I’ve been told my prices are too low, that I’m hurting the industry, that I should charge more, and that I’m undervaluing myself. While I respect that everyone runs their business differently, I find it exhausting having to constantly defend the heart behind mine.
When I started Kyla Wallace Photography, it was never about becoming the most expensive photographer around. It was about making sure families like mine could afford to preserve their memories. I know what it’s like to have to choose between paying bills and paying for family photos. I know what it’s like to wish you could capture those moments but feel like it’s out of reach.
My goal has always been simple: provide beautiful images at a price that more families can afford.
Does that mean I’ll stay at the same prices forever? Maybe not. Businesses grow and change. But I refuse to believe that making photography accessible is something I should be ashamed of.
I am proud of the work I deliver. I am proud of the families I’ve been able to serve. And I am proud that my business is built on the belief that everyone deserves the chance to preserve their memories.
