I had the BEST time last night in my literal back yard!! Lydia reached out to schedule maternity photos, and once she gave her family farm address... I realized I could throw a rock from my back yard to their farm. MO weather has been showing off big time, and the sunset was truly only something God could give. I am so excited for these two.

It was the perfect temperature, pink skies, and the perfect piece of family property to photograph these parents-to-be. I could have hung out with these two all night! They showed me where they plan to build their future home, we talked about the horses and the property, and introduced me to the farm cat. Cannot wait to meet baby in a few weeks and see this crew again. 🤍

Yesterday I got to meet the sweetest little boy; he was full of coo's and was telling me all about his past few weeks with mom, dad, and his two big fur-brothers! I had the best time with the Nassif family, capturing all the sweetness of newborn life + parenthood. The dogs were wild and crazy (just the way I like it... except when MY dogs do it, haha!)

Jettson was all about snuggles with mom + dad, didn't flinch when the dogs were a little too silly, and took a nice nap halfway through his session. I always love getting to photograph nursing photos, too. Photos I know will be cherished forever!!

Yesterday morning I got to start off my day with not only the sweetest little baby boy, but our FOR THE MOMS giveaway winner!! It’s always so much fun spoiling a mom with my close friends/momprenuers. Baby boy was born 3 weeks ago and Lindsay + Cody made the trip in from Columbia for the sweetest studio session.

Kieran was a champ for his photos, serving sleepy smiles and soaking up all the snuggles. While shooting, a mama deer and her 2 babies came out from the woods and stopped at the lake right outside the window. It was the coolest thing ever!! I’d say it was the perfect picture of how beautiful motherhood is. 🤍

I had the pleasure of photographing the Schatz crew at their family home this misty morning!! Seriously the nicest family and so welcoming + full of love! We sheltered under shade trees when the mist got a little crazy but I'll take this 65 degree morning over a hot and sweaty one any day!!

It's been soooo so wonderful getting to know this family one by one, but now I've officially met them all and what a treat it was so spend my Saturday morning with them! These photos were so much fun - I love getting to meet the WHOLE family and photograph where they were raised... pups and all. 🐶

Got to hang out with this gorgeous couple this afternoon before the tornado hits.... 👀 it was truly breezy and the perfect overcast making the prettiest photos!! Kenzie was not about sweating this afternoon (I mean who is) and it's safe to say she didn't have to. So grateful for the break in this heat!

They are having a sweet baby BOY this September and I am so excited for them!! The first grandbaby on BOTH sides of the family... He is going to be oh so spoiled!! Kenzie + Tyler are visiting from Iowa for their baby shower this weekend + I am so excited that grandma coordinated these photos for them. 😉 perfect timing and I am so honored to have been able to photograph this season for them!!

Today is International Friendship Day, and it has me reflecting on one of the greatest gifts this little business has given me.

Sure, I get to document milestones, growing families, and beautiful memories, but what I never expected when I started this journey was the friendships.

Some of my very best friends in the world are people I met because of photography. Others are families I may only photograph once twice a year, yet when we see each other, we pick right back up where we left off. We celebrate each other’s babies, careers, anniversaries, answered prayers, and shared in the hard seasons. They know my boys by name, ask how life is going, and I get the privilege of watching their stories unfold year after year.

It’s so much more than showing up with a camera.

I truly believe God places every family I photograph in my path for a reason. My prayer has always been that I would serve people well... not only by giving them photographs they’ll treasure for generations, but by making them feel known, cared for, and valued.

Photography has introduced me to some of the kindest people I know, and I don’t take that for granted. To every family who has trusted me, cheered me on, shared your lives with me, or become a friend along the way… thank you. You have made this job so much sweeter than I ever imagined.

THE HEYER FAMILY

It was a warm one, but also cooler compared to the last week! Overcast + a beautiful family... count me IN. Every time I'm with Kirsten + Drew, I am reminded that they were made to be girl parents. Mom is so smitten with her girls, and dad is so tender, kissing and snuggling with them the whole time (even when we're all hot and sweaty from the weather!!)

Tatum + Finley are little angels, just as happy as can be taking pics with their parents. I am so blessed to have known them for years now, photographing them every single year!! Literally the BEST part of my job is catching up every session and remembering where we last left off. 🤍

got to see some of my fav people tonight… this time, at MY house for pics!! it was hot but the bribery was a playdate with my boys and ice cream straight from my freezer 🤣 what a perk it was to not have to get childcare or leave my house.

Always a treat to see this fam whether it’s Sunday mornings at church, play dates, or annual family photos 🤍 miss having these crazy kids as neighbors.

Because after 3, what’s 4?! 🤍🤍🤍🤍 soooo excited for the Reeves fam!! They make some CUTE babies. I loved photographing them once again, and embracing ALL of the chaos is my favorite part.

Don’t want family photos because you think your kids will be too crazy? That’s the perfect reason to have them done! Embracing them for where they’re at is why I love photographing families so much. Posed photos are great, but the candids are forever my favorite. 🥹🤍
