If your senior keeps saying, “I’m going to look awkward in pictures,” they’re definitely not the only one. 🤍

Most seniors don’t walk into their session already knowing where to stand, what to do with their hands, or how to make every pose look natural. They shouldn’t have to.

A big part of a senior session is simply giving them enough direction to feel comfortable without making every photo feel overly posed.

Sometimes what looks incredibly simple behind the camera turns into one of those portraits you’ll end up loving most.

So parents, if your senior is nervous about being photographed, don’t let that be the reason you put senior pictures off. They don’t need modeling experience. They just need a photographer who can guide them and give them space to settle into the session.

The best family photos rarely start with everyone standing perfectly still.

Your senior does not need five outfits to get variety from their senior pictures.

Sometimes one outfit they feel really confident in, the right location, beautiful light, and a little movement can give you completely different photographs without changing everything halfway through the session.

That’s something worth remembering when you start planning.

More outfits don’t automatically mean better senior photos. If your senior already has something they love wearing and genuinely feel like themselves in, that’s often a much better starting point than buying something simply because it looks like a “senior picture outfit.”

From there, even small changes can create variety. Walking instead of standing still. Moving closer to the flowers. Changing the angle. Playing with their hair. Letting them laugh instead of asking for another perfect smile.

The goal isn’t to squeeze as many looks as possible into one session.

It’s to create photos where you can still recognize your senior in every one of them. 🤍
