My family never had big birthday parties when I was small. We were allowed to invite a friend over and mother always made a cake.

Each family does things differently but I started adding a few things here and there and finally bought a basket to keep it all in…hence the birthday basket has come to life. 🧺

Joy is one of the most beautiful things in life.

When I see a joyful mother (sometimes it’s in the grocery parking lot or at the playground) you notice them from far away. They are usually laughing…or their children are. They aren’t rushing, they go at their children’s pace. And often, they are facing something hard in their lives. But still…they choose joy.

Such a sweet session celebrating motherhood. Her two little boys picked her flowers, snuggled into her and made swords out of sticks.

She watched them calmly, praised over their flowers and laughed as they played. What a beautiful example of strength and grace.
