I’ll never tire of photographing this time in a woman’s life and I’ll celebrate right beside you. I’ve had so many of you in front of my camera this year and it never gets old. Every mama has her own story and it feels so special to share in your joy. Asking the universe to send me all the expecting mamas in the most beautiful locations to photograph!

They say when one soul leaves this physical world, a new soul is brought into the world. May that be to bring sunshine in moments of despair or to bring us peace is left to the unknown. I want to think that it is a little bit of both. After a tremendous family loss, what I do know is that this baby is being welcomed by the best parents, by the silliest of siblings, being watched over by a heavenly angel. I wanna say he got the last laugh thinking you were done with TWO….

I’ll let you in on a little secret…. I used to dislike photographing teens. Perhaps I’d let my head go back to that awkward tween stage of my own that made me feel the furthest from my true self. It was almost as if I was that same awkward teen behind my lens, the blind leading the blind if you will. What I was missing most was connection between me & my subject. Finding common ground and making them feel safe and seen behind my camera. Meeting them half way and not trying too hard. Building confidence when it’s lacking or peeling back the layers of a child’s true personality. It’s not easy to do and it takes practice but when you can connect, you can really capture the essence of who they truly are.

A HOMETOWN session and a stop at my favorite Meadowlark Drive-Thru Dairy because I love documenting my families in their favorite places and places that feel like HOME to them. When your kids grow up, will you have pictures of them where they grew up?? It really made me think of wanting a session just like this for my own family in our own hometown in places we frequent and feel like home to us. This was such a fun session to shoot. If you’re interested in a unique session because the grassy fields aren’t your thing, let’s come up with something together that really feels like HOME and true for your own family. I’m up for it all!

I am in FULL SWING again and busy season is HERE! I’ve been photographing this family since that little girl you see in these pictures was in her mama’s belly. I also went to high school with her mama. I swear she is like fine wine. She looks more and more beautiful with age and I’m so lucky to know her.

I have a firm belief that you’re never in the right place at the right time by coincidence. The universe puts you where you’re needed.

I was walking back up from scouting a location I have been to numerous times for a new client I was about to meet and as I was coming back up the cliff side I saw a gentleman drop down to one knee proposing to his lady. Of course my instinct with my camera in hand was to capture it. So to these two people I’ve never met in the real world, I wish you a lifetime of happiness & more photographs of your beautiful life together by strangers you’ve never met. 😉 You happen to be there at the right time at the right place. Congratulations! 💕

During the fall I posted this family with the most happiest smiliest baby there ever was. Do you remember him?! Swipe to see the cutest snuggle bug! At the end of the session mom pulled out a sonogram photograph (still very early in her pregnancy) and asked if I would snap a few pictures to announce her pregnancy. Omg! What?! Yes!!! And it was right then that I realized how special it is that I often get to be one of the first to know your secrets, surprises and often the first to hold your newborn before even closest family/friends. What a gift!

This new addition to their family is just as perfect as that giggly, squishy, silly brother you see that has seamlessly taken the best big brother role. I can’t wait to watch these brothers grow through my lens!

Multi-generational sessions are the type of sessions I will never get enough of. They are pictures for now and pictures/memories your children get to hold onto forever. This family was everything. The kids giggles and laughs still echo every time I see these images. Thank you to this beautiful family for allowing me to capture the essence of your beautiful family!
