A few weeks ago, the presence of this beauty surprised me and I was only able to capture a few photos on my iPhone. It was my first encounter with a Pileated Woodpecker. Today, I was fortunate enough to have my camera with me. Much better results :) WOOHOO!

Before I left work last Wednesday, I shot a few photos at a "pretty big event" we were hosting. I absolutely LOVE taking candid pictures of people engaged in their favorite hobbies/sports/activities etc.

It was a cold day here in Vermont! Apparently a winter bird, the Dark-eyed Junco, watched the weather forecast and made its return to a very safe space here in our yard :)

It's been a challenge for me to capture & produce quality photos of the Common Loon. However, I'm pretty happy with this set :) They were taken at different times of the year and on different ponds.

Flowers just make me smile, especially when they have visitors :) Black-eyed Susan varieties.

It'd been a few years since I attempted to photograph the Osprey(s). I'm happy with the shots I took with the sun at my back. Shooting into the sun is not an easy task to "get right". I definitely need some more practice.
