Natalie + Jesse were wed during an intimate ceremony in a small town chapel surrounded by their close family. When I asked Jessie what the thought of seeing Natalie in her wedding gown, all he could say was “She is just incredible.”

Our Maggie June arrived this past Saturday, June 6. She’s a healthy, happy baby girl with the most obsessed sister she could ask for. Sunny is absolutely over the moon. Today we celebrate one whole week of our June-bug. Thank you all for being so patient with us as we soak in this time.

Birth story:
Tuesday, June 2 I went to my usual 37 week OB appointment and she did a cervical check which ended up telling us that I was 4 cm dilated and 60% effaced. So we knew that labor was near, especially with how frequent my Braxton Hicks contractions had become. Friday morning at 3 AM I started leaking fluid, which is the exact same thing that I did with Sunny. After I started leaking more, we decided to call the doctor and they advised us to go in and get tested to see if it was amniotic fluid. We got to the hospital at 7:30 AM and the test was positive. They said they were keeping me because there was an infection risk. Ben and I spent all day Friday walking, bouncing on an exercise ball, doing low squats, and other things to try and induce labor. We decided that if I wasn’t in full labor by midnight that we would start Pitocin. So Saturday morning at 4 AM we started Pitocin and nothing really happened. Contractions became more consistent, but not painful and not productive. After that, my OB confirmed that I had a foresack and it wasn’t allowing my water to actually break, but it was just leaking. Bug was low so we knew that wasn’t the problem. So after hours of trying more to induce labor contractions, we decided to break water at 9:30. After we broke water, contractions became very painful and very consistent at about one and a half minutes apart. I did still manage to stay still enough for an epidural, but the epidural failed on my right side. At about 11:15 my OB showed up after I couldn’t stop the urge to push and after 30 seconds of pushing, Bug was here.
