I’m so excited to finally share a styled shoot concept that’s been living in my head for months hosted by Carleigh Rae Photography & Leann Johnson Photography!

This is a luxury western wedding editorial designed to blend timeless Texas heritage with elevated fashion, rich textures, and modern romance. Think black tie meets cowboy hats, champagne towers, heirloom details, dramatic florals, candlelight, and an editorial aesthetic worthy of a magazine spread.

Hosted at the stunning Half Moon Empire, this shoot will showcase a refined take on western weddings, moving beyond rustic and embracing sophisticated, fashion-forward storytelling.

Some sessions hit a little differently.

It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating Laura and Ryan’s pregnancy announcement, dreaming about the sweet little girl who was on the way. Then came maternity photos, cozy newborn snuggles at home, sweet mini sessions, and now somehow, Grayson is already ONE.

One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to watch families grow and being trusted to document all the little chapters in between. It’s bittersweet looking back at where we started and seeing how much has changed in what feels like the blink of an eye.

This studio session was full of laughter, sweet moments, and plenty of Grayson’s signature silly expressions. She kept us smiling the entire time. And instead of a traditional cake smash, she celebrated with a cupcake smash, which was every bit as adorable and messy as you’d imagine.

The last photo might be my favorite because it perfectly captures this season of life: full of personality, curiosity, and joy.

Happy first birthday, Grayson. Watching you grow over this past year has been such a privilege, and I am so grateful I’ve gotten to help tell your story from the very beginning. 🤍

Can we normalize not ghosting photographers after inquiring?

We spend time responding to inquiries, checking availability, answering questions, creating custom quotes, and helping you find the best fit for your session or wedding day. If you decide to go a different direction, that’s completely okay. If you’re not ready to book, that’s okay too.

But a simple:
“Thank you, but we’ve decided to go another route.”
or
“We’re going to hold off for now.”

goes a long way.

Photographers are real people behind the screen, not automated booking systems. A 10-second message provides closure and allows us to move forward instead of wondering if you’re still interested.

Kindness costs nothing, and communication is always appreciated.
