Jessi & Shane in NYC, during their last 48 hours of living there. Shane’s job has taken them all over the US, but since he grew up in Queens, their time in New York was extra special. Two weeks before this we had a “hey this is a crazy idea but are you down” conversation about me coming out to document the end of this chapter for them. A couple of heck yeahs later, I was on a plane and we were exploring on little sleep and loads of laughter. From the Met, to Dumbo, neighborhood salsa dancing, the Brooklyn Bridge, and all the subway rides in between - we walked and talked and soaked in the special that is New York City. So here are two of my favorite humans celebrating the end of one adventure as they head off into another, on both digital and film ✨

A sunrise ceremony overlooking the epic Pinnacles of Badlands National Park, celebrating Marissa & Sam as they said “I do” in front of their friends and family that traveled across states to be with them. Tears and laughter and ooey gooey golden light!! We then ran around the park for an hour before parting ways until I joined them for their reception later that evening. Buffalo, big horn sheep, and prairie dogs all stood witness and I think they probably cheered for them too 💫

A couple of favorite moments running around Mt Rainier with Rylee & Braden. We had to pivot at the last minute due to the fire near Sunrise, so we ended up at Paradise and it was perfect. Braden got to see the one thing he was hoping for (bears) and Rylee was straight out of a Taylor Swift song - look at her!!! We met back with their family for a little reception at Packwood Brewing Company and ended the night with cake and dancing and so many smiles. A micro wedding straight out of a fairytale

My most used phrases the last two weeks has been:
“I’m obsessed with you”
“I’m going to freak out”
“AHHHHHH”

And I mean it each and every time because are you kidding me!!

I daydream about these mountains weekly

K&B on a sunny Wednesday in Alaska, finding wildflowers and avoiding bears and saying “I love you” under towering peaks and giant glaciers. What dreams are made of, truly!

A love letter to Renie & Ryan and their Mt Rainier wedding one summer evening in early July 💫 somehow it’s been a year since they got married and I still think about how perfect of a day this was!! I feel so blessed that this job allows me to cross paths with individuals that turn into friends 💓

The one where Meg said yes!!

When Molly first reached out about planning their proposal to Meg, they had a vision of asking Meg to say “yes” among the tide pools on a quiet beach that required a bit of a hike to get to. I was gung-ho at the idea and was super stoked to be part of it! Then this winter, the state park that the beach is located in had major mudslides that took out the road so we were in limbo on if Molly’s dream would come to fruition. However, shortly before their proposal was to happen the road reopened AND we found that sunset would happen at the same time as low tide. Meaning we not only had access to the beach BUT also perfect timing and conditions for Megs tide pool proposal to happen!! It was a perfect combination of meant-to-be. Molly asked Meg to marry them, Meg said yes, I learned Meg is also an archaeologist and sewed the skirt she’s wearing (so so cool), we yapped and ran around the beach we had entirely to ourselves before I left the two of them to enjoy their newly engaged bliss. A truly perfect proposal!!

Haven’t don’t a little intro post in almost a YEAR so figured what better way to show off these Alaska photos🌲

If you’re new here, hello! I photograph weddings & elopements, from quiet two people days to big parties with over a hundred of your people - I love them all and want to celebrate with you in a way that feels authentic and intentional to your love story. I had a big convo with a couple getting married this summer about how your wedding day is not for my IG feed or to build my portfolio - it’s a real and important day in your lives, not an opportunity for content. It’s important to me for each couple to feel their values are heard and honored, whatever that means to them!!

Some random facts:
🌲I still hate AI with a ✨passion✨can we stop normalizing using chat gpt for everything and instead ask those around us irl???
🌲the mountains are calling and I will always go
🌲 I love hands. They change so much over the course of our life and tell so much about the lives we live
🌲I love listening to audio books on 2x speed
🌲I use too many exclamation points but really am just that excited
🌲I found this past year that I need creative hobbies to fill my cup outside of work and sewing has become that for me. Whales, salmon, and Dungeness crabbies - some of my favorite things about PNW life
🌲when I’m not taking pictures of people I’m raising two little girls, trying to grow a garden, convincing my husband of the next trip we ✨have✨ to take, in a book, and just trying to live this little life as boldly and fiercely as possible

A little Portra love at Ruby Beach with Shelly & Jacob ✨ Jacob’s one request for their engagement session was that film was integrated! And honestly, can’t blame him?? These two road tripped from California after Shelly obtained her DOCTORATE (women in STEM!!), car camping among the redwoods and the epic Washington coast. So we ran around the rainforest for a bit and ended at Ruby Beach to catch the prettiest sunset I’ve ever seen there. It’s iconic for a reason!!
