SENIOR SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT ✨
••• Rory // Laurel Highlands Class of 2027

When I first met up with Rory and her parents at Ohiopyle, I immediately asked if Rory was named after Rory in Gilmore Girls (because it’s my ultimate favorite comfort show to watch) — her mom said she was. I knew right then and there that we were going to have so much fun during her senior session. 😭

I’ve seen the conversations happening in the photography community right now regarding AI, children’s images, and sharing our work online. I’ve thought about it, and I want to be transparent about where I stand. ❤️

I will not be removing all identifiable images of children from my photography page.

I completely understand why some photographers and parents are choosing to do that, and I respect that decision. The capabilities of AI are unsettling, and unfortunately there will always be people who misuse technology and images in ways they were never intended to be used.

But sharing my work is also a huge part of how I run Alexis Rose Photography. Families find me because they can see real sessions, real connections, real personalities and the kind of memories I create. My portfolio is quite literally how I show you what I do.

What will never change is that your consent matters more than my content.

If you do not want your child shared on my website or social media, tell me. No explanation necessary. No hurt feelings. No pressure. I will always respect that.

If you’re comfortable with me sharing some images but would prefer faceless/detail images of your child, we can absolutely do that too.

And if I have shared an image of your child in the past that you are no longer comfortable having online, message me and I will remove it.

These photographs belong to your memories first and my portfolio second. ❤️

I’m going to continue photographing babies, toddlers, kids and families the way I always have — documenting their little faces, personalities, milestones and all the things their parents never want to forget.

I’m also going to continue sharing that work with permission.

There isn’t a perfect answer for navigating technology that changes this quickly. For me, right now, this is the decision that feels right for my business while still giving every family complete control over whether their images are shared.

I’ve seen a lot of posts circulating about AI and photographers choosing to stop sharing photos of children, and I wanted to share my perspective.

I absolutely believe AI needs stronger regulation, especially when it comes to protecting children. But I also think we need to be careful about creating fear without looking at the bigger picture.

At what age does it become ok to post your face online? Teenagers? Adults? Pets? Elderly? Do we just never post the young children and only post older ones? Cause you guys stopped posting childrens faces just to turn around and post a senior session that even tagged the girls school..

And it raises a bigger question: Blurring face removes their face but what about their body that you guys are still posting? Do you believe they only use your child’s face and not their body?

That’s why I don’t believe this issue is as simple as “stop posting kids.”

I believe in being cautious. I believe parents should have complete control over whether I share their children. And if you EVER tell me you don’t want your child posted, I will respect that, no explanation necessary.

But I also won’t use fear surrounding AI and make parents feel terrified about something that is much more complicated than a Facebook post. There are predators irl - they are in your schools. In your churches, dr offices, they are in stores. They are hiding behind family titles, they are next door neighbors, and could even be sitting at your big holiday family dinner table. Social media is NOT the only place to start being vigilant all of a sudden.

I’ll continue sharing my work while respecting every family’s wishes, just as I always have. Protecting children matters. So does giving parents accurate information and allowing them to make the choice that’s right for their family. 🤍

Kayle had a vision for her maternity session and I am absolutely ✨obsessed✨ with how everything came together.

We did this session out on my father’s farmland with his old rusty wheelbarrow and my antique galvanized watering can. I just love when a vision comes together so beautifully. 😭

Nepa Valley | Mobile Coffee Cart Uniontown PA celebrates three (!!!) years of business today, so I figured it was the perfect time to share some of my favorite shots from their branding session! ☕️

When I stop by Nepa, my day gets instantly better. They’re the kindest, sweetest souls and the drinks + goodies are INCREDIBLE. (If you haven’t tried one of their famous brownies or a monkey business latte, you’re seriously missing out. 👀)

Hazel’s nickname is “Hazel Basil 🌿 “, so of course we had to do a little Italian-themed cake smash to celebrate her first birthday! She wasted zero time and dove right in to her spaghetti 🍝 cake head first. 😂
