But the real story? The love and support that carried her here.  
 
We spent the morning at the beautiful Cleveland Museum of Art surrounded by light & laughter, and with some of the most important people who mean so much to her - her husband and son - watching this woman absolutely shine.  
 
This session felt like more than a celebration of a degree. It truly was a celebration of late nights, big dreams, quiet sacrifices, and the kind of strength that builds a legacy.

This sweet family welcomed me into their home for photos with their sweet kiddos, cutie little dog, and 4 month old baby boy whose newborn session simply got lost in the whirlwind of life (because honestly… that happens more often than people think!) 
 
Throughout our session there were tiny feet running through the house, a baby who needed snuggles, a curious toddler, a proud big sibling, and a dog who wanted to be quietly involved in absolutely everything. In other words… real life. 
And that’s what made everything perfect. 
 
If you’ve ever worried that your house isn’t “photo ready,” that your kids have too much energy, that your dog will be in the way, or that you missed the newborn window… let this be your reminder that none of those things disqualify you from having beautiful photos of your family. 
 
The magic isn’t in perfection. 
 
The magic is in connection, movement, laughter, and the way your family loves each other right now. 
 
This session was joyful, a little wild, and full of heart. Because sometimes the chaos isn’t something to avoid. Sometimes it’s exactly what makes the story worth remembering 🤍

Kids aren’t supposed to behave “perfectly” during family photos.  
 
They’re supposed to wiggle, laugh, dance, run back and forth to you for hugs and snuggles.  
 
When photos are relaxed and natural, kids don’t feel like they’re performing - they just get to be themselves. And those are the moments that create the photos that families end up loving the most.  
 
Your kids don’t need to behave perfectly for beautiful photos to happen, being themselves is enough 🤍

Sharing anything has felt a little strange to do lately. There’s a lot of heaviness in the world, and I’ve been sitting with that.

I never expect kids to stand still. Actually, I don’t want them to. I want them to run, explore, twirl, laugh, collect all the rocks on Lake Erie’s beach, and play! Family photos shouldn’t feel stiff, and only about sitting still, and getting a fake smile. Your photos should feel like you, like them, their childhood: curious, joyful and alive. That’s how you go from dreading family photos to actually enjoying the moment.
