Every once in a while, I step outside of my comfort zone and try something a little different. 🖤

My sweet Theo turns 6 tomorrow, and with his birthday falling so close to Halloween, it has easily become his favorite holiday. So when he asked if he could have a Halloween photoshoot for his birthday, I knew we had to make it happen! 🎃

What started as a little idea turned into something even better than I could have ever imagined, and I’m a little obsessed with how it all came together. 🥹🖤

I might just have to step outside my comfort zone a little more often! 👻✨

🍯🤍 Oh, sweet little Isla! 🤍🐝

The sweetest little girl, with the sweetest parents who spent our entire session absolutely doting over their beautiful girl. 🥹 There is just something so special about watching new parents soak in every tiny detail of their little one, and these moments were full of so much love.

And can we talk about the Winnie the Pooh theme?! 🧸🍯 With the 100-year anniversary bringing a little extra love to the Hundred Acre Wood, I feel like I’m seeing Pooh Bear pop up more and more, and I am HERE for it! We did Ruthie girl’s nursery in Pooh Bear, too, so this theme will always have a special place in my heart. ❤️

In fact, if you look closely, you might recognize a few of the stuffies in these photos… 👀😂 I may or may not have borrowed a few from Ruthie’s collection for this session, much to her disapproval and very serious concern about when she would be getting them back. 😂🧸

Welcome to the world, sweet Isla! You are already so loved, and I’m so happy I got to capture these precious first days. 🤍🍯

I had the sweetest time capturing this family! ❤️ Getting to photograph a friend and coworker’s family makes it extra special, and these boys brought ALL the energy and were ready for every bit of my shenanigans! 😂🤍

From the silly moments to the genuine smiles, sessions like these are a reminder that some of the best memories come from simply letting kids be kids and embracing all the chaos and fun that comes with it. 🥹✨

The questions Santa answers.
The little moments when they forget there’s a camera there.
The way they look at him like he’s actually the man they’ve been waiting for all year.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.

This is my sweet rainbow baby. 🌈

Before I knew him, I knew loss. And before I got to hold him, I knew what it was like to hope, to grieve, and to wonder if I would ever get the chance to bring a baby home.

Having hime doesn't erase the babies we lost. If anything, becoming his mom made me understand even more deeply how precious these little lives are.

So this month I'm remembering the babies who were loved, even if they were never brought home.

And, I'm holding a little extra space for the moms and dads who are carrying that grief alongside everyone else's celebrations.

To the babies who came before, and to the ones who came after: you are loved, Always. 🌈
