It has been fairly quiet here in the land of JBP. Between our time in Alaska and the big move to Iowa, I have been in a strange place with my photography..but I think I got it all out of my system and I’m ready to get back to it full force. To the mama who doesn’t share their child(ren)’s faces on the internet: please do not let that stop you from booking family photos. I sincerely hope (I have faith in us all) that there is not a single photographer out there that would not respect your wishes of not sharing your images online. It is in my contract that I am allowed to do whatever I want with the images I take, but I would NEVER use that as a “well, you hired me so I get to post them” if you asked me not to. I have photographed many families whose images never see the internet, outside of the gallery I send them (and even that gets hidden away from my public homepage on my gallery delivery service). You deserve to have nice family photos, even if you’re not sharing them online - truth be told, I know a lot of people who get photos taken and then those photos live on their phones/Facebook/computers without ever being printed - and that breaks my heart more than being asked not to share images online (no matter how much I love them) ever could.

Local friends! I have time for some quick backyard (my backyard outside of Traer) costume portraits this week, if anybody is interested. I used to offer these back in Montana and they were always a hit.

I am flexible on times, Tuesday-Thursday. $25 for 5-10 photos, this just depends on how into it your kiddos are.
