Talk about biting off more than you can chew. 😂🐟

I caught this cormorant in the Melbourne, Florida area trying to get this rather ambitious catch down. Between the fish, that incredible turquoise eye, and the water still dripping from its feathers, this ended up being one of those wildlife moments I was very happy to have my camera pointed in the right direction for!

Nature isn’t always graceful. Sometimes it’s just hungry. 😂

My marsh showing off. ❤️‍🔥

I’ve photographed this little marsh close to home more times than I could ever count, but it never seems to look the same twice. On this evening, the sky absolutely lit up and the water caught every bit of it.

This is why I keep coming back. 🌅

🦋 It’s easy to think of a Monarch as simply orange, black and white… until the sunlight hits those wings just right.

I love how much detail showed up in this one. Look closely and you can even see hints of green and blue iridescence tucked into the darker parts of the wings. Nature always seems to have a few extra colors hiding in the details. 💚🖤🧡

A little visitor at “my marsh.” 💚

My family knows exactly where I mean when I say my marsh. 😂 It’s a little marsh near my house in Erie, Michigan, along the North Maumee Bay, and one of my favorite places to park, watch and see what shows up.

This day I caught a little movement in the vegetation and up popped this Green Heron, keeping a very serious eye on the water below for its next meal.

Sometimes my favorite wildlife moments happen when I’m doing nothing more than sitting still and paying attention. 📸

The night sky hits a little differently in Northern Michigan. 🌌

Another view from my Traverse City trip, and this time I was able to capture the Milky Way stretching across the sky.

It’s amazing how much is up there that our eyes don’t always get to see. Give a camera a little more time to collect the light, though, and an entirely different sky starts to appear. ✨
