A Mt. Baker elopement, entirely on film 🎞️

We drove 4 hours north the night before, stayed in a barn Airbnb, fed some sheep and woke up to photograph the most intimate little mountain ceremony. We even got to sign as their witnesses!! Afterward, everyone piled into my truck and we headed up Mt. Baker for portraits: only to find out the lake we planned to shoot at was completely dried up lol. So we improvised🤍

Ended the night driving around the mountains trying to find pizza because literally everything was closed…. Every photo here was shot on 35mm, using Portra 800 and Nikon F80. Exactly the kind of imperfect, documentary wedding day I love photographing.

How I get family photos done in less than 10 seconds each 🫡

Family photos are SO important but no one wants to spend an hour of their wedding day standing in a line smiling at me lol.

A few things I do to keep them QUICK:

• Have a solid shot list made with my couples beforehand
• Keep the groups tight + have the next people ready
• I bustle the dress so no one is stepping all over the bride’s dress
• Phones, keys, wallets, sunglasses etc OUT of pockets!! It takes 2 seconds now and saves me so much Photoshop later 😭
• Get the classic smiling photo first
• Then look at each other / hug / laugh so I can grab some candids too
• Done. Next group!!

Some couples want their family photos to feel a little more editorial, others literally just want them quick and easy. Either way, I want you to have all the important photos WITHOUT family photos eating up your entire wedding timeline.
