I am not one for self promotion. However I feel there is a story I’ve never made public about my line of artwork.
It started in 2013 when I saw a stunning maple leave with perfectly laid water droplets in my grandparents driveway. I was in awe by the beauty and I wanted the ability to gaze at the leaf for hours, but I knew the leaf wouldn’t stay picture perfect. 14 year old me ran and grabbed her iPad to take a picture. The electric feeling I got when the camera focused perfectly for the shot, and I realized I could make a beautiful moment last forever. That’s where my story began.
The satisfaction of having an artistic vision and being able to properly translate it for everyone to see. (If you work with art mediums, you understand). Things progressed, I was gifted a lovely camera or two by my supportive family, to whom I wouldn’t be who I am today without. I even convinced friends to take photos with me every time we hung out, helping my artistic visions become real.
During high school, I picked photography for my senior project in 2017. My first few paid gigs from my friends and peers. I was able to donate that money to Shriners Hospital for Children and give back to the community. Now I’ve relaunched my project in a new way! The Senior Snaps program at SHS, providing free grad portraits to Seniors since 2023!
Shortly after my project, was able to land a freelance position with the Duluth News Tribune. Most of my assignments were for “Moms & Dads Today” and “The Women Of Today” magazines. A very surreal moment to have my work published and printed for people to look at. Through the short years of freelancing, I had the privilege to meet so many outstanding individuals, and I’ve listened to their stories and milestones with admiration.
Today, I still carry the highest honor of meeting so many wonderful humans. I get to listen to their stories. I get the privilege of being present and capture their most important and intimate moments. I get to be there for every second of their wedding day. I get to witness the look on a father’s face the first time he sees his daughter as a bride. I get to photograph a child in its first few days after birth. I get to photograph kids who are graduating high school and about to change the world. I get to help couples celebrate engagements. I get to capture love and life. I get to make my clients beautiful moments last forever.
