Hey friends 👋🏼 it’s Darby 😊
I’m so honored to be apart of this beautiful business Tacy Negrete has created. For many reasons, but mostly because taking the picture is important to me.📸

Today, I’m going to get a little personal with you.
Some of you know my back story, but if you don’t, I’ll fill you in. 😊
This is an old picture of my mother and I. At only 6 years old my momma passed away from cancer.

(Don’t be sad) I had a wonderful God mother step in and raise me as well as a few other strong women. But.. I still missed my momma.
My mother was NOT a fan of taking pictures and I know that for two reasons, my family has told me, as well as not having too many of her and I together. Oh, how I wish I had more!! ❤️❤️

So this is your reminder to get in the picture.
I know it’s easy to wait until you feel more "camera ready," but your children do not see your imperfections. They see their beautiful mom—the one who loves them, comforts them, and makes them feel safe.
Years from now, these photographs will mean more than any possession you own. They will become some of your children’s most treasured keepsakes. I promise you!
Even if you never book a professional session, please take the picture. Hand your phone to someone, set a timer, and get in the frame.
And if your mom is still here, take the picture with her too.
