It's usually not the birthday party/cake/singing that gives me the feels because we've been starting new chapters when we least expect it since he was born, no matter the date.

It's the first time he said mama that made me reminisce about him as a newborn makes his first sounds.
The first time he put a rock down instead of putting it in his mouth that made me realize one day I won't need to follow him around for safety.
When he rode his bike down every ramp type thing in the yard with zero fear, reminding me of him taking his first steps at 9 months.
And the first time we fell asleep on the couch with a movie made all of the endless, sleepless nights feel too far away. 
Those are the moments that make me stop and say "wow, I think this might be a new chapter" no matter what date it is.

Everyday I am grateful for the chapters we've been through, embrace the one we are in, and dream about the ones to come. Because SOMEHOW, each one gets more amazing, even though I don't want it to come 😭
