The world is such a funny, weird, amazing place.

I began working with OnCue Theatre a couple years ago, and when a parent of one of the cast members reached out to me needing new headshots, of course I said yes. So Becca shows up and (and brings her amazing daughter with her, who was Ana in Frozen!), and we're just having a lovely time chatting about the musical and mom life, and I start asking about her goals for the headshots. She says something to the effect of, her job is in a state of flux so she wanted some fresh headshots to prepare for what came next.

Ya'll, my client was Rebecca Kelly Slaughter, former FCC commissioner who was fired by Trump.

Cue me about to fall over, drop my camera, stumble over my words, etcetera etcetera, etcetera 😂

I've gotten to photograph some pretty cool people - but usually not this close and personal. I photographed a wedding Neil Gorsuch officiated. I've had backstage photo ops with Chris Issak, 2Cellos, and Josh Groban. But getting to talk to Becca and experience one-on-one how warm and authentic she was, was truly special.

It was an honor working with her, and I am so excited to see where she goes from here (and what her daughter's next role is at On Cue!!)
