….Heavy on His Mind….
A team roper spends a lot of time alone with his thoughts. There are miles of highway between rodeos, early mornings with the horses, and long stretches of time to replay the last run and think about the next one.
The next steer is always somewhere in the back of his mind. What went right. What went wrong. Where he can make up a second. Where he can find a better shot.
But in between all of that, there are moments when everything gets quiet. The horses are standing, the arena is moving around him, and for a minute, he’s just sitting there taking it all in.
Maybe he’s thinking about the next steer.
Maybe he’s just thinking.
