Wedding traditions are often geared towards straight couples

Think about it…
💍 The bride taps the groom on the shoulder during a first look.
💍 The groom walks out first
💍 Parent dances are gendered

And while that’s totally fine, q***r couples might be left wondering what to do during their own wedding.

If you’re still looking for traditions or rituals to incorporate, look no further!
✨ Include ritual like a hand fasting, oathing stone, or ring warming ceremony
✨ Have your officiant declare you as spouses or married partners
✨ Do a double first look where you stand back to back
✨ Have a parent dance with either or both parents
✨ Walk out to your ceremony together

There’s nothing wrong with tradition, just so long as it aligns with you two and reflects yourselves and your values.

In fact, most of the couples I work with plan their elopement in 3-6 months 🤯

June is the best month! And I don’t just mean that because it’s my birthday (hello fellow Geminis!).

🌈 It’s Pride Month!

This year, Pride feels more complicated. Will less companies be openly inclusive? Will there be more attacks on gay & trans folks?

It’s certainly a strange time to be celebrating, but that’s why we do it. The first Pride Parade was a riot, after all.

So in case it wasn’t clear…who you are and your love story is safe here. Always has, always will.

If I’ve done my job right, none of this should be news to you. I sincerely hope I’ve shown myself to be an ally throughout the years—and will continue for many more.

I got cabins on the mind 🏠

I’ve captured a few cabin elopements recently and got to thinking—what is it about cabins we love so much?

I think they perfectly encapsulate nostalgia, adventure, and travel. You may have stayed in cabins as a kid at summer camp. Or stayed at a family member’s cabin for the holidays.

That’s what makes cabin weddings so alluring.
