Who says you can’t do family photos while on vacation? 🤍

They lived in LA for a few years before moving back out of state, and while living here, this was a favorite beach to explore. It was only fitting that while back on vacation, we captured them at a favorite spot.

It was a great morning reconnecting with this family and exploring the beach and tide pools!

When people hear we bought the farm that’s been in my family for 200+ years, they have a wildly different idea of what it actually is!

No plantation home or beautiful farmhouse here, just 112 acres of gorgeous farmland with a dilapidated vulture infested farmhouse and barn.

But we have big plans to build our forever farmhouse here! We plan on using remnants we salvage from the old farmhouse mixed with timber milled from the property, to play homage to the history of the land.

It will take some time, but we’re here for the challenges it will take to make it ours and be able to pass down to our children too!

My personal take on Instagram lately:
It’s become nothing more than a shopping app. You can’t escape it. No matter how many times you skip ads and just try to watch friends stories or reels, every couple stories will be another ad or influencer pushing the latest Amazon product your direction.
And I’m over it.
10 years ago I was part of a photography project called Documentary Photographers with a group of photographers throughout the world. We came together to capture our REAL life, no matter how chaotic it was. Trying to show that unposed, in the moment life was more important than the perfectly curated lifestyles that were being sold to us. It worked for a while, until even that became people creating chaos in hopes of being featured. I feel the pendulum swinging back that direction again.
Instagram has become the newest version of The Home Shopping Network. But instead of sitting in front of a TV watching infomercials all day, we have them in our pockets, with us wherever we go.
I don’t want this app to be about shopping. I want it to be about photos and videos and capturing life again. 🤍

No words can describe how proud I am of this kid getting into PURDUE!

We’ve known his whole life big things would be coming for him. Now, to see him graduating into this next chapter, I’m proud to have had a front row ticket to all his amazing accomplishments.

Congrats Colton!! You are so very loved!
