The first of many photos from this year’s visit to Great Smoky Mountains National Park! Standing here, I felt like I was in a jungle on the other side of the world. Well… it looked like one anyway. Ithaca, where I am now leading another workshop, feels like a jungle with its 90 degree days and humidity. Ugh.

When I spotted this location near Lubec, Maine, I didn’t recognize it from any image I had ever seen… which, as a landscape photographer, is always exciting. Probably I should dig into ’s portfolio, might be in there.
