I think it means finding someone who stands beside you through the hardest parts of life; The grief, stress, and personal setbacks, and choosing each other through all of it. My Papa spent his last day reminiscing about his wonderful life with everyone he loved. He laughed, cried and sang with us all day before peacefully going to sleep.

He was rich in all the ways that truly count. He was so proud of his family and the quiet life he built here in Vermont. Papa was my greatest source of inspiration and admiration, and I am so lucky and so blessed to have loved him for 32 of his 103 beautiful years.

He would often say he was “in his 104th year,” always looking brightly ahead to the blessings still coming our way. He was undoubtedly the most optimistic, generous and loving soul on this Earth.

Thank you to everyone who loved my grandpa. My heart is broken, but so incredibly full. I miss you and I love you so much, Papa. You will always be my best buddy. 🤍
