I had the opportunity to photograph the Heart of Dixie Rugby Tournament last month and I was lucky enough to snag this photo of my eldest daughter coming off the field after a win. This photo reminds me why I started doing sports photos in the first place.

Shout out to all the amazing skaters who skated in Rocket City Roller Derby League 's super spooky mixer last month, Hail Skatin. It was fun to get to watch some of my friends skate in their first ever derby bout and even more fun to get to capture some of those moments.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to travel to Tuscaloosa a get a few snaps of Rocket City Roller Derby League playing Druid City Derby in their first away bout of the season.

On Saturday, May 18 Rocket City Roller Derby League had their Running of the Bulls FUNdraiser downtown as part of the BeeZr street festival. If you're interested in being part of the RCRD (as a player or volunteer) please reach out to them on their page. If you want to check out a bout they will be playing at home on June 29th!

I'm excited to announce that I have been asked to be one of the official photographers for RCRD!!
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph the amazing ladies of Rocket City Roller Derby League at their first home bout (derby slang for game) of their 20th anniversary season against Chattanooga Roller Derby. If you haven't had the pleasure of attending a roller derby bout you are missing out on a hard hitting evening of excitement and entertainment. If you're interested in coming out to watch a bout (or even joining the league- don't worry, they'll train you) head over to their page for more information. After seeing the lights at Gas Light Ally at Stovehouse I knew that's where I wanted to do Christmas photos for the kids. It was cold but the kids were troopers, like always. I love how the photos turned out and I can't wait to send this one out as a Christmas card! Happy Holidays, everybody! May your days be merry and bright.
