less perfection. more intention. waaaaay more personality.

Here’s what I’m leaning into this year:
1. Showing up consistently without waiting for things to feel “ready”
2. Fewer posts, better stories (quality over chaos, always)
3. Sessions that feel relaxed, human, and not like a photoshoot survival test
4. Working with local businesses + creatives who value connection over competition
5. Letting my clients be themselves instead of trying to pose the life out of them
6. Sharing more behind-the-scenes and less highlight-reel pressure
7. Trusting that done beats perfect every single time
8. Creating images you’ll actually want to save, print, and come back to
9. Making space for humor, honesty, and a little imperfection
10. Booking with intention—I have availability, and I’m excited about who fills it

There’s something really special about documenting a service as it’s happening — the focus, the tiny details, the hands-at-work moments that clients don’t always see but absolutely feel.

From family photos to senior photos to wedding photos… and now, newborn photos. 🥹

I’ve had the honor of photographing this family through so many seasons of life, and getting to meet their baby boy felt like everything coming full circle. Watching the kids I once photographed grow up, fall in love, and start families of their own is the kind of joy that never gets old.

People always say photographers should “niche down,” but honestly? I’m so glad I never did. Every season tells a different story — families laughing together, couples saying “I do,” newborns just beginning their journey — and I love being able to capture them all.

This little guy was welcomed with so much love, and being invited into their home to photograph these first moments felt like such an honor. These are the memories that remind me why I do what I do — the kind you never get back, but always get to keep. 💛

A whole YEAR since Ryan + Audrey said “I do”?! Time really does fly when it’s a love like theirs.
From the little country church where Audrey grew up, surrounded by cornfields and familiar faces, to a Meadow Barn celebration filled with hugs, happy tears, and a packed dance floor — their day was everything we love about small-town South Dakota weddings.
