Newborn photos are beautiful, but they are only one piece of your baby’s story. What happens after those first few weeks is just as special and filled with so many changes you'll want to remember forever. I don't offer newborn photography, but I love photographing babies once they are at least three months old. By that point they are alert, expressive, and starting to interact in ways that make portraits come alive. Families who come to my Berks County studio quickly see how much there is to capture beyond those early days.

Kids grow and change so fast that sometimes parents stop and think, “Wait, when did that happen?” One month they are tiny and shy, and the next they are showing off new tricks and personalities you never saw coming. With all those changes, confidence is still catching up. Some kids come bouncing into the studio full of excitement, while others need a little time to warm up. That is exactly why I love photographing them. It is not just about getting pictures to hang on the wall. It is about giving them an experience where they realize how great they already are and leave feeling confident.

Most children are used to quick phone snaps that end up blurry, rushed, or taken while someone is telling them to “smile bigger.” Those kinds of photos rarely show who they really are. In the studio, things are more intentional. I talk with them, figure out what makes them excited, and guide them so their personality shows without it feeling forced.

Not that fake “I’m smiling because I was told to” look. I’m talking about the genuine stuff. The kind of laughter that makes your eyes water and your sides hurt. Phone galleries fill up quickly especially when it comes to kids. Every smile, silly face, and well every moment, gets captured…but after a while those photos just sit there. It is easy to forget how special those moments are when they are stuck in a digital folder, lost in a mix of thousands of others.

Your kids deserve better than to be lost in a camera roll. And so do you.

Families come into my Sinking Spring studio wanting something different. They’re not looking for stiff poses or copied Pinterest ideas. They want photos that actually look and feel like their family.

This is going to be gorgeous for holiday sessions, don't you agree?! 😍

There's one big problem, though: it isn't real.

Yet, I've seen this photo in my feed countless times this week from different photographers, advertising their upcoming sessions.

As AI becomes more popular, photographers are generating fake sets, promising that "it will look really similar to this".

Based on the prices they're charging compared to the cost of the setup, I promise...it won't 😔 .

Please be careful when selecting a photographer. It's becoming all too common for fake sets to be created and even fake photographs with families are being generated and posted on photographer websites.

If a price seems very low or photos look almost "too good" for a new photographer, or ya know, you notice mom has an extra foot and 16 fingers 😉 ), trust your intuition. 💙
