I’ve been holding a heavy heart watching what’s happening with ICE—especially in LA, the city where I was born and raised.
My dad came to this country from México. My mom, born in California, is also Mexican—her parents were born in México too. I carry their stories, their strength, and their prayers.
I don’t have it all figured out. I’m still learning. Still listening. Still finding words.
But I know that what we’re seeing isn’t just about policy—it’s about people. About dignity. About a long history of displacement and survival.
I created this post with intention paired with the nopal, a symbol of resilience I carry on my body and in my story.
May we not grow numb. May we honor our shared humanity.
Silence isn’t neutrality—it’s alignment with power.
And as someone rooted in faith, I know we’re called to protect the vulnerable, not turn away.
Orgullosa de ser hija de inmigrantes. 🧡
