Matt Crowell Photography Beautiful landscapes and moments point to the beauty of Creation, reflecting the goodness of God. Twenty years ago, I took a family trip to Colorado.

I do my best to capture that beauty from my corner of the world. Beauty captured through the lens of a Canon camera. ;)
ambassador I've been into photography ever since. I've worked in all categories from real estate to weddings to landscapes to seniors. I'm fascinated with beauty... from a sunrise on the beach of Florida to a sunset over the Rocky Mountains of Montana to the nooks

and crannies of New England's Appalachians. And even to the smiles of a client when they see their favorite people printed on canvas. Extreme beauty lies steadfast in these trying time, wrapping our hearts with joy and reminding us that love and hope never die. My part is to capture that beauty with a lens. Viva Christo Rey

RIP to the old amphitheater at Goose Pond Colony.
Glad I got some pictures there over the years.
They finally tore it down. Hopefully something cool or useful is done there.

I wanted to get the end of the dock and a lot of the sky so I did a vertical pano at 70mm. Didn't want to change to my wide angle lens yet.
Pretty cool glow after the storms.

The Everglades in black and white. This is an underwhelming ode to the master of that genre, Clyde Butcher.

It's just good memories from my trip here a few years ago, which was good memories from my childhood.
Sometimes memories are all we've got. Sometimes we have pictures.

But no picture will ever replicate the smell of my grandparents' house at Christmas time in south Miami. Or cracking open a cold Coca Cola in my other grandparents' house built from stone. Family trips to the Keys and stopping in the Jimmy Buffett souvenir shop. Going to the nice, big local grocery store with a weird name, Publix, where I had my first Cuban coffee. Deep sea fishing. Shorty's BBQ. Fishing in the the canal at the end of my grandma's street. Taking a little boat with my dad out in the Ten Thousand Islands. Just being around family.
That's what I think of when I go back and look at these photos.
Good times.
I want good times again.

Not a nice composition but I was playing around with off camera flash in the light drizzle before the battery died.

All the recent courthouse square images in one post, plus a newly edited one (can you guess which one?).
Because I didn't feel like doing anything after work.
One benefit of browsing the troves of photo files and folders and editing some is it's a reminder for me that beauty persists in this world. Even on the darkest days.

I like to say I hope people see the beauty of my corner of this world through my photographs and hope they bring some small amount of momentary joy. A reminder that beauty still exists and it is good. Making this post I realized that I need those same reminders too. I guess that's why photography is so important to me.
