I’ve been creating something fun for my business over the last few weeks, and one unexpected part of the process has been revisiting sessions from years past!

It’s been such a reminder of how many beautiful moments I’ve gotten to be a part of over the years. This gorgeous sunrise session with Lauren is definitely one I’ll always love. The soft light, the calm beach, this dress, her glow… just everything ✨

Sometimes going back through old sessions reminds me exactly why I fell in love with photographing seniors in the first place.

Proof that you do not need a fancy dress for gorgeous senior photos 👏🏻

A great pair of jeans + a simple top can photograph SO well when you focus on the little details:

✨ Choose jeans that fit you perfectly (straight leg + light wash always feels timeless)
✨ Go for tops with texture: eyelet, linen, ruching, embroidery, anything with a little dimension
✨ Add delicate jewelry for that polished-but-not-trying-too-hard vibe
✨ Flowers in the back pocket? Immediate main character energy
✨ Pose with purpose and use the landscape (leave this part up to your photographer!)

Honestly, some of my favorite senior portraits happen in outfits that feel the most like YOU. Casual doesn’t mean boring. Casual, done well, feels effortless and gorgeous.

**Disclaimer: yes, you should still absolutely bring a long dress too. I make the rules around here and the rules say we need BOTH 😂 You better believe Emma wore a beautiful long white dress for half of her shoot 🥰
