Hey. I’m Danielle.
Aside from the occasional test shot (like this photo), I’m usually behind the camera.
Yesterday, two new clients walked into the studio. We’d never met. But it got me thinking—they booked a whole shoot without knowing me at all. Then today, another client said, “I had no idea what you looked like until today.”
Fair enough. 😂 So, hi! This is me.
I’m endlessly fascinated by people—the quiet ones, the loud ones, the beautifully awkward ones, and especially the ones who hate having their photo taken.
But here’s the thing. I know I’m the one holding the camera, but I do NOT have it all together.
I’ve worked my ass off to get here, and I’m still figuring it out. I’m historically terrible at business/making money, and have terrible ADHD and social anxiety. (I’m pretty sure working from home made my anxiety worse over the years.) But opening The Studio Scituate Harbor forced me to crawl out of my shell. It’s been a giant, messy lesson in saying yes before I’m ready, making mistakes, and failing forward. It hasn’t been graceful.
In my former life, I was a graphic designer and art director, traveled the world, and eventually came home. I realized I wanted to build the kind of creative space I wish had existed when I was growing up here.
My clients are a beautiful and inspiring mix of local businesses, brands, creators, performers, and rising talent. It sounds like a random mix, but really, I just photograph people—and the things they create.
Most days my life is a scramble of shoots, editing, and raising three creative kids. I’ve got two musicians and one dancer, so our house is… loud.
But because of all that beautiful chaos, I promise you this: You don’t have to have it all together for me.
You don’t have to know what to do with your hands. You don’t have to be a polished, filtered version of yourself. The best photos happen when you stop trying to be perfect and just let yourself be human. Messy, flawed, and real.
That’s what I’m looking for every single time.
Ok. That’s a long one. Thanks for reading! I’m really glad you’re here. ✌🏻
