You may not think senior photos are that important. And I get it.

Not everyone is someone who prioritizes photos.
Maybe you think, “We have plenty of pictures on our phones.”

Maybe senior photos just aren’t something you feel like you need to spend money on.

I get that too.

But here’s what I think about when I photograph a senior…
These aren’t really photos for today.

They’re for years from now.

For the mom who suddenly realizes how quickly those high school years went.

For the graduate who wants to remember who they were before college, careers, marriage, kids, and everything else life brings.

For the family who wants to look back and remember that exact season—their personality, their smile, their style, the places they loved, and the person they were becoming.

Because someday, this season will be over.

And how awesome will it be to have more than a few phone pictures to remind you of it?

You’ll have these.

The images that take you right back.

The ones that make you say, “Oh my goodness… look how young you were.”

The ones that remind you not just what they looked like, but who they were.

Senior photos might not feel important right now.

But I have a feeling they’ll mean a whole lot more down the road. ❤️

PS. A little bonus I don’t talk too much about- I also take a photo of the parents with the senior at the end of the session 💕

Seven kids. One beach. A mom who grew up here and wanted her family to have a little piece of it, too.

There’s something about watching a big family interact that I just love. The way the older ones naturally reach for the little ones. The way someone is always running off, someone is always laughing, and somehow everyone still knows exactly where they belong.

There was so much movement during this session. Little feet in the sand, laughter, parents trying to keep track of everyone, and plenty of those in-between moments that you could never really plan.
Those are my favorite!

I loved being able to document not just what this family looks like right now, but the way they feel together. The connection, the personalities, the big-kid/little-kid relationships, and all the tiny moments that make up this season of their family.

And getting to do it on a beach that holds so much meaning for Mom made it even more special.

These are the photos I hope they look back on years from now and remember exactly how this evening felt. ❤️

If your family is a little loud, energetic, and definitely not interested in standing perfectly still for photos... you’re my kind of family.

I did something I never thought I’d do.

I’m not a morning person. Like don’t even talk to me until I’ve been awake for a little while and had at least 3 sips of coffee.

BUT-I shot a sunset newborn/family session! And it was amazing.

I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to do a workshop with Melissa from MELISSA SOTO - Florida Family & Newborn Photographer

Working and learning alongside other photographers always gives me such a boost of creativity and inspiration.

And yes, I’d do it again!

Benefits to a sunrise session:
✨an almost empty beach
✨amazing light
✨you have the rest of your day ahead of you

If a sunrise session is something you’d like to explore, especially if your kids get up at the crack of dawn anyways, message or email me and ask!

Blue skies again today — and after yesterday’s strange orange haze, I’m not taking that for granted. Scary (and sad) to think that over 800 fires are burning in Canada.

In the meantime, here’s a little newborn session that reminded me what really matters: tiny toes, sleepy sighs, and the people who love them most. Swipe through 🤍

There are some weeks that remind me just how much I love getting to do this.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve photographed backyard family sessions like this one, sisters celebrating graduation, beach mini sessions, two branding sessions for local businesses, an in-home newborn session, and a cover session for Greet Duxbury Magazine.

Each one looked completely different.

Different people.
Different stories.
Different seasons of life.

But they all had one thing in common. None of them were about perfect poses. They were about connection.

The way a family laughs together in their own backyard. Sisters celebrating a milestone. A tiny newborn settling into life at home. A business owner stepping confidently into the face of their brand.

One of my favorite parts of this job is getting invited into so many different chapters of people’s lives and helping preserve them in a way that feels honest, joyful, and true to who they are!
