There is a brief, sacred window of time where the moon hands the world over to the sun. This morning in the Savannah Lowcountry, I watched that handoff happen through a heavy blanket of fog. From the quiet, distant glow of the moon to the first burning slice of the sun breaking through the mist—it’s a reminder that every day begins with a masterpiece if you’re willing to wake up for it.
I started with the moon hanging over a silent marsh and ended with a sun so bright it felt like it was set on fire by the fog. Which "vibe" do you prefer: the quiet blue of the moon or the fiery orange of the sunrise?

After a year of searching and anticipation, I finally had my first clear encounter with the vibrant Roseate Spoonbill near the Earth Day Nature Trail in Brunswick, Georgia. Seeing that unmistakable splash of brilliant pink against the dense green canopy was an incredible rush—a true "bucket list" moment for my bird photography. These shots capture the spoonbill perfectly perched high in the brush, joined by a Great Egret, showcasing the stunning, prehistoric beauty that makes these birds so captivating to track. It was a rewarding reminder that patience is just as important as the right light when it comes to wildlife.

Nothing beats the quiet energy of a Tybee Island sunrise. 🌅 There’s a brief window where the world turns entirely to gold, and the only sound is the tide pulling back from the shore. I caught this shot yesterday morning—April 1st—watching the sun crest the Atlantic while the early morning fishermen claimed their spots on the pier. It’s moments like these that remind me why I keep the camera ready.
