Some stories can’t be understood at first glance.
Neither can some dogs.
Today, I photographed one of my favorite clients, Deebo.
He’s a rescued pit bull with a heart that continues to surprise me.
My cousin stopped by with his daughter, Emma. We took a moment to do a proper introduction, giving everyone the time and space to get comfortable.
Then Deebo did the rest.
Emma reached for his ball, and he gently let her take it.
She loved on him, and he quietly sat there, soaking up every bit of affection.
When it was time for Emma to leave…
Deebo rolled his ball to her.
No commands.
No treats.
No one asked him to.
Just a simple invitation to stay and play a little longer..
People often ask what Beyond Sight Photography means.
To me, it means looking beyond appearances.
Beyond first impressions.
Beyond the stories we create before we’ve taken the time to truly know someone.
Sometimes the most beautiful thing a camera captures isn’t what someone looks like.
It’s who they are.
