And then, they said forever.

Part III of Jenn & John’s Newport wedding weekend, featured by Loverly

After a full night of celebrating in Newport, Jenn & John woke up to the most beautiful summer day for their wedding at Castle Hill Inn. Blue skies, sailboats drifting across

Narragansett Bay, hydrangeas in bloom and all of their favorite people gathered by the water. Their day felt quintessentially Newport, with soft blues, crisp whites, beautiful florals and subtle coastal details woven throughout.

But beyond everything that made it beautiful, it was the way these two soaked it all in that I’ll remember most.

Game, set, they’re a match.

Part II of Jenn & John’s wedding weekend, recently featured by Loverly

After an intimate dinner at The Vanderbilt, Jenn & John welcomed 200 of their favorite people to the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

Guests mingled across the historic grass courts, gathered around a seafood bar, and spent the evening singing and dancing to live music by Jordan Kahan. Colorful florals, playful patterns and little nods to the setting transformed one of

Newport’s most iconic spaces into a welcome party that felt completely their own.

Jenn & John began their Newport wedding weekend tucked away at

The Vanderbilt, surrounded by an intimate group of their closest family and friends.

It was the kind of beginning I love most. Dinner together, glasses raised, stories shared and a little bit of quiet before the weekend really began.

And this was only the start.

Next stop: the tennis courts.

There’s a little gem tucked away on my website that not many people see.

It’s a little piece of me. My heart, my story, and so much of the why behind the way I photograph the people in front of me.

Why I notice the little things. Why the in-between moments will always matter to me. Why presence, connection, and the people you love will forever mean more than a perfectly planned photograph.

So, I thought I’d bring a little piece of it over here.

Deeply authentic. Laid back. Fully in it.

That’s how I want a wedding day to feel.

Not worrying about what comes next or whether everything looks perfect. Just letting yourself feel it all. The quiet tears before you get dressed. The portraits that feel like you. The people you love filling the dance floor beside you.

There is so much emotion woven into a wedding day, and I don’t think any of it needs to be toned down for the sake of a photograph.

Laugh loudly. Cry when it hits you. Let the veil fly. Dance with your grandpa. Put a basket on your head.

Be deeply, unapologetically yourselves.

I’ll take care of remembering what it all felt like.

You might be surprised by who falls in love with your wedding day first.

Someone asked me the other day what my superpower is on a wedding day.

At first, I said trust. Then went on about all the ways but as I kept talking, I realized trust is what gives me the space to use my actual superpower: Anticipating a moment before it happens.

Being born deaf, I learned to see with my eyes before I could hear what was happening around me. I learned to read body language. A glance. A shift in expression. A hand reaching for another. The emotion building before it becomes obvious.

Somewhere along the way, that became part of how I photograph.

As I was explaining this, I turned and said, “Watch those two. They’re going to lean in and hug.”

A few seconds later, they did.

I didn’t create it or ask for it. I anticipated it. I felt it coming.

The glance across the room.
The hand reaching for yours when no one is watching.
The second where it feels like you’re the only two people in the room.

But for my superpower to really be at its peak, you have to trust me enough to let me use

Trust me when I linger a little longer.
Trust me when I’m watching something you haven’t noticed yet.
Trust me when I tell you to forget about the camera and go live your wedding day.
