✨IT’S BABY MONTH✨ There’s something so magical and dreadful about your last few weeks of pregnancy. The anticipation and excitement of meeting your little one is so unbearably strong that it’s almost torturous magic. My nesting list is still a mile long, as well as my editing queue. We are still shopping around for a double stroller, if you have reccs slide into the DMs and we have yet to purchase any diapers. This baby might not get to meet the most prepared parents but they will meet parents who are already completely obsessed and cannot wait to love them and introduce them to their wild big sisters. Consider this my official Out of Office until further notice, I’m hoping to be back to work in July ❤️📸

We are in the single digit weeks from meeting our little “pizza baby”. If you have been around for a while, you know that we nickname all of our babies. Berlin was Peanut, Ruby was Pistachio and this babe is Pizza. There’s no rhyme or reason, it’s just how it goes in our house. Our life is so chaotic and adding a third just seems bonkers but…well there is no but…it just is bonkers. It’s hard to picture what life will be like once they arrive so I’m just over here taking it one day at a time, and procrastinating the heck out of deep nesting that needs to be done.

Shoutout to 📸 amandanoel___ for joining our parking lot chaos and embracing all of my families wild energy.

✨MY THOUGHTS ON AT HOME NEWBORN PHOTOS✨

1. You don't have to take them within weeks of getting home. It is okay to wait 3-4 months. Your mind and body are healing after birth and not every mom is ready for a photoshoot 1-3 weeks after coming home from delivering their baby.

2. Wearing loose clothing with cotton fabrics conveys a message of comfort and is flattering on postpartum bodies. Synthetic or tight fabrics aren't going to photograph well.

3. You really don't need to get the whole house ready or clean, feel free to dump any clutter you don't want in photos in a closet or extra bedroom. I like to stay in the rooms that have the most light, USUALLY, that is the living room, kitchen, nursery or bedroom.

A list of oddly specific things that annoy me.

1. The sound of lawn mowers and leaf blowers.
2. Being short and pregnant and not being able to reach the bottom of the washer or the corner of the counter where crumbs from the toaster are just piling up.
3. Feeling like I can't change my work because I have built up such a status quo and clients wont book or come back because I want to do something different.

The first thing is just universal and oh well what are you gonna do. People have to landscape their yards. The second, will get better once this little pizza baby is born. The third well, takes a lot of courage from me to ask for what I want, shoot what I want, how I want and hope that I don't disappoint or let anyone down.

So here's to making a shift, leaning into what I want and to the clients that will stick around and keep supporting my dreams.

What can we say about Frankie??? Working with her was truly one of the highlights of our entire day!! My family adored her—everyone kept talking about how funny, warm, and efficient she was during family photos. And the photos? They are EVERYTHING we dreamed of and more. The details, the movement shots, the emotion—she captured it all.

3 WAYS TO ROCK YOUR MATERNITY PHOTOS

1. Wear something with texture. Fabrics with texture photograph so much better than polyester blends.

2. Use your session as a time of connection to your partner and new addition. Make plans for a celebratory dinner after your session!

3. Plan your photos at the start or middle of your 3rd trimester. Most mamas are still pretty mobile and comfortable and the bump is bumping’.

Reminder that my calendar is closing for a few months starting in April, but I’ll be back to work in July, so holla over if you’re expecting a little one this year❤️
