the day before the wedding🥵🔥

i wholeheartedly believe that everyone out there getting married should do a steamy session the day before their wedding.

coming from years of shooting weddings, it never fails—there is always some sort of panic or stress that can quickly feel overwhelming. trust me, i’ve been there with my own wedding. i just wanted to run into my soon-to-be wife’s arms and disappear for a bit😩🫶🏼

setting intentional time aside to ground yourselves and set the foundation, tone, and energy for how you want to remember your big day is SO important to me.

i’ve had the honor of doing this quite a bit in my career and will always recommend it. the next day, i walked in to greet my funkers and they genuinely looked like they were floating on a cloud. every moment of the day felt—FELT. you could tell they were taking it all in, surrounded by their loved ones, never wanting it to end… and now they have those memories photographed to last a lifetime.

i’m always so excited to be trusted with documenting weddings for my funkers. it’s how my career started as an artist, and i owe everything to it. i’d honestly love to lean back into storytelling with weddings, especially with how much i’ve grown and learned in my craft.

my funkers invited me over to vegas to go all out and define the true meaning of not giving a funk!🖕🏼 this 2-day experience was absolutely beautiful! from surprising his love with a massive bouquet arrangement of florals, to the gangster swaged out bridal gear they had on, down to the bottom of their sweet loving funkin’ hearts!

after i took their photo in front of the iconic las vegas, nevada sign, i dropped them off at their restaurant reservations to enjoy their elopement dinner celebration. i ended up sneaking into their suite and decorated everything, vegas funkin’ style baby! balloons, confetti canons, champagne, and of course— the dolla bills! 💸🔥

imagine returning back to your hotel room and there i am in dim lighting, just waiting to funk s**t up some more haha! i’m sure these two funkers had other plans than to expect the king of steam in their room😂

there is absolute no better feeling than waking up at sunrise, having the ENTIRE beach all to yourself, as you embrace into each other’s arms and celebrate your engagement together!

coming from the early days of my career as a photographer, engagement sessions were such a huge part of how I learned to document love.

fast forward to today, and i’ve realized there are no rules for what that has to look like.

you can lean into the unconventional. you can create art that feels entirely your own. and more than anything, you can document love exactly the way my funkers envision their love being seen, felt, and remembered.

we of course, captured the “safe for grandma’s fridge magnet” photos for the save the dates but as soon as that was all set and done, the steam kicked in!💨

my funkers were rolling around the sand, running in and out of the cold plunge of an ocean, and just absolutely living a life full of love!

these two are seriously something special. it was an honor being able to be in their space creating a breathtaking masterpiece together! I already can’t wait for the next one! congratulations to you both!💍🔥

who said you had to wait an hour after eating cake to go for a swim 🎂💦🔥

some of the most reminiscing moments in my childhood was walking up early in the morning, pouring me up a PHAT bowl of cereal, throwing on some cartoons, and getting right to work!😛

A LOT of the masterpieces that i create are often nostalgic pulls from the archives between my funkers and i. we throw around all sorts of ideas and things we enjoyed doing as kids.

and somehow we find a way to bring it to life during the masterpiece creation!

we get to experiment with angles, lighting, and compositions that speak true to our hearts that feel effortlessly natural!

this masterpiece is particularly special to me in so many ways. very rarely do i ever have fan girl moments. but when the opportunity came to photograph these two, i became instantly nervous, shy, and every possible emotion you can think of when you’re about to meet someone who’s art you’ve admired for years!

it’s been really fun introducing props/prompts over the years of things that are special and meaningful to my funkers. this was my first time ever photographing someone doing a hapé ceremony. if there is one thing about me is, that i’ll forever lean into the curiosity side of things. immediately i began to ask questions about it so that i can learn what all of this was.

it provides grounding, clarity, deepened spiritual connection, and emotional release. seems like this is all right up my alley of the art that i create. now, i don’t recommend you go out there and try it. i would strongly advise that you seek professional guidance with this. i was tempted but was so focused in on capturing the most beautiful masterpiece for my lovely funkers!

traveled up to the beautiful pnw to photograph these two beautiful funkin’ souls. traveling with my art has not only allowed for me to see the world but also have a front row seat experience all the different forms of love out there.

we started off their intimate steamy session in their cozy summer cabin. now, to all my aspiring photographers out there who wish to edit moody, shoot in funkin’ cabins ALL day. finding random little pockets of light is so special.

after a relaxing bubble bath, my couple wanted to relax out on the roof of the cabin and just gaze up at the gorgeous smell and views of all the pine trees surrounding them.

to further deepen their connection with not only each but with mother nature, we ran out to their little lake, grabbed our magical unicorn of a floatie, and seemed to have left the towels back at the cabin 🤭🔥

now this is how you funkin’ celebrate the end of summah out in the pnw!🥵🦄

one of the most beautiful things you can do as an artist and quite frankly, one of the biggest advice i can give is to — study your own funkin’ art.

take this beautiful masterpiece for example. this was taken over 5 years ago and it still brings me SO much joy looking at them and studying the art my funkers and i created.

so often we may find ourselves playing the comparison game of what others are out there doing or creating. trust me, i’ve fallen into that trap before and it can get scary, really quickly.

i immediately adopted this method into my practice as a way to continue elevating my skill set. i’m always seeking what i could do better and better with every masterpiece i have the honor to do with my funkers.

repeat these steps day in and day out and i can promise you, you’ll be unstoppable in whatever you do. i do this everyday with my photography and doing it everyday with my tattooing. some may call this boring but i call this being, disciplined🧠💪🏽

we got to the hot springs knowing well in advance that other people may be there. a few deep breaths later (hoping and wishing for the best), they completely blew me away. their love has this tunnel vision that just sucks you into it. i literally forgot everyone was there.

in the distance you could hear all the cheering and love they were throwing their way. so much so, that a couple who was enjoying the session as bystanders from new york wanted a selfie with them and even joined in on all the funk🔥 (see slide 9) we ended the night with me tattooing them outside their tent, underneath the stars, and in complete awe of this special day. to this day, this has become one of the most memorable masterpieces and where i’ve had the pleasure in permanently tattooing someone in nature!

the confidence i love seeing on my funker’s face when that “breakthrough” moment happens during the session is the “high” that we chase.

it’s like a runner’s high after putting in all the work and feeling absolutely free.

it warms my heart to the core seeing my funkers just live life to the fullest while we create together. i, too, also experience that high moment when the energy is flowing and we are creating that funkin’ self-love masterpiece!

instantly, it feels like we’ve been best friends for years and i get to be your biggest cheerleader rooting for you every step of the way during our time together🤗

i’m so glad to be offering these sessions and honored that i get to create with so many amazing funkers ready to capture their self-love journey through my lens!

all of this makes me want to set up my tripod and finally step foot in front the camera to document myself the way i capture my funkers! 🥹🫶🏽
