When you completely nail the proposal ✨👏

You guys!! This incredible young man is my cousin and he pulled off THE proposal of a lifetime for his GORGEOUS girl! It was so well planned, intentional, thoughtful and ended in so many happy tears. God has a hand in their story and the future to come and I could not be more thrilled for them. I can’t believe what an amazing man you’ve grown into, Iz, and what a gorgeous girl you have, inside and out. I have something that I haven’t been talking about publicly on social media. Something I’ve been quietly working HARD at for over a year. But today is finally the day I get to talk about it!

Last year I got my associate’s degree. In addition to working full time, running my photography business, and taking care of my family and being there for my kids in all their sports.
I did that to use those classes in addition to all of my dental experience to apply for the dental hygiene program at Concorde, where I went to dental assisting school 15 years ago.

I completed my associate’s, got all of my hygiene shadowing hours done, studied for and took the 3 hour entrance exam (and passed with flying colors), worked back and forth for MONTHS with financial aid that resulted in so many sleepless night and tears. There were so many times we thought we had financial aid figured out but then something came up that derailed the entire thing. So many moments I thought this wasn’t going to happen for me. But I fought, pushed through, and persisted.
Then I was finally eligible for my interview and had that two weeks ago. THE most important interview of my life!

There are only a limited number of spots in this program. This has been one of the most intense and challenging things I’ve done. But I just got the phone call that I made it in and I have a seat in the dental hygiene program! 😭😭😭❤❤❤ I’m bawling!!

This is a new chapter of my life that’s just beginning. Soon I will be solely focused on school and running my business. YES - I will still be doing photography OF COURSE and I’m super excited for all the weddings I have this year! But I’m also excited to transition within the dental field into hygiene, which will eventually allow more freedom and flexibility for our family.

Thank you tremendously for all of those who have been walking through this challenging season with us, praying with us, and encouraging us. No one achieves anything alone. ❤ Here’s to a new chapter and a new photography season as well!! 🎉
