Naturally, since we’re finally back in our home after almost 2 years of hurricane recovery, we needed new drama in our lives. 🫠
Here’s the quick details for those in a hurry:
1. Yes, the studio building is for sale. No, we don’t want to leave.
2. Yes, Studio St Pete is still fully functional and open for bookings. We’re locked in through July 2027 so your bookings are safe.
3. We offered to purchase, but our price points are very far apart. They offered new long term leases that would almost double our current monthly rent so we had to pass on those too.
On a more personal note: This sucks. We found this property after it SAT FOR A YEAR on the market and it was an empty black and white space.
Awesome bones? Absolutely. But we had the vision for what it could become and designed it to be something the creative community in St Pete adores.
Having it on the market with my (Robin’s) design and styling helping it look incredible and stand out stings and there have been more than a few tears over it.
We took the risk to grow Studio St Pete while still displaced from our home, paying rent and mortgage month after month, because we knew what it could be. The potential that someone could swoop in and take that from us (and potentially just replicated our business) suuuuuucks.
But we are not willing pay more for something out of desperation or fear. We are hoping for a resolution that allows the current Studio St Pete to stick around beyond mid next year and we’re trusting that if it doesn’t, we will once again figure it out.
Thank you to all who support our small business. Keep booking. Keep creating.
