First of all, congratulations! You're in the fun stage where the world's your oyster and the possibilities are endless, and I love that for you ✨

Before the planning gets overwhelming, there's one tip I tell EVERYONE:

📸 Find your favorite photographer as soon as you've locked in your venue.

Reaching out before you've got a venue makes it hard to book a date, and sometimes the photographer you've got your eye on will charge travel fees you'll want to calculate up front.

But as soon as you've got your venue?

Lock them in.

Because finding that person up front who you're excited to have by your side on your wedding day? Knowing you've got someone ready to support you and advocate for you? That's gold. And it's about finding that combo of a personality that you love and an art style you adore.

As a bonus, you'll also have the option to work in an engagement session, too, which is the perfect time to get to know one another better before it's your big day.

You don't need your whole vision sorted to reach out, just a date.

I'm protecting the memory of the relationships that matter so much to you that they're standing beside you on your wedding day.

I'm protecting the time your people carved out, the ones who flew across the country or across the world, because being there for you mattered more than anything else that weekend.

I'm protecting the experience of your wedding day itself. The way it actually felt to be there. For you, and for every single person who showed up to celebrate you.

There's a reason in-home newborn sessions are my favorite.

It's not about perfect poses or elaborate setups. It's about your family, in your space, in the most tender and exhausted and overjoyed days of your lives. Less baby origami, more real life.

I grew up understanding why these photographs matter. My mom was passionate about having our family professionally photographed because she didn't have any photos of herself growing up. Those images are some of my most treasured possessions now.

That's what I want for you too.

Beautiful, artsy photos don't require a perfect location.

They require people who are genuinely happy to be together.

This couple celebrated their anniversary doing exactly what they love. Books , coffee , and a quiet moment together, in a parking lot space, outside their favorite indie bookshop.

That's the kind of session I live for. Not styled within an inch of its life. Just two people, somewhere that means something to them, and me getting to document it.

Some weddings stay with you.

This was one of my earliest beach weddings, and I still think about it all the time. Not because it was elaborate or fancy. But because it was so completely, unapologetically them.

Their favorite people. An intimate ceremony on Pass-a-Grille beach as the sun set. A champagne toast. Blankets for the guests (because yes, to us Floridians the evenings can get chilly!). Fun and funky sunglasses for everyone to wear during the ceremony.

The kind of wedding where how the guests experienced it was just as important to the couple as their vows.

This is why I do this work. Not just to take photos, but to show up for the whole experience. For my couples, their guests, the vendors who poured their heart into the day. I want to help make it as magical as they dreamed it would be, and document every bit of it while I'm there.

A couple came to a consultation and mentioned that another photographer counted their travel time toward their coverage hours. They asked if that was normal...

It’s not unheard of, but it matters enormously, and most couples don’t know to ask.

If you book eight hours of photography with me, you get eight hours of me photographing your wedding. Not driving to it. Not setting up gear. Not eating dinner. Eight hours with a camera pointed at your day.

I do step away to grab a snack or water (gotta stay fresh and focused!) but I time it around lulls so you’re not missing anything. The point is that your coverage time should be exactly that: yours. Every hour accounted for.

Before you sign with any photographer, ask directly: does my coverage time include travel? The answer will tell you a lot.
